Lock onto both crystals with War's Vorpal Blade, then charge the blade before you throw it. As you leave the Grub Nest, watch for a path on the north where you can jump down to a lower level. You'll find this Item Chest on a rock island between the acid rivers. Jump back across the river and continue northwest until you reach the wall, then turn right and follow the wall northeast. The first valve is behind the poisonous waterfall. Darksiders Genesis Quests and Missions Guide Darksiders Genesis sees Strife and War join forces to fight Lucifer's infernal forces. Activate the Switch which will turn off the acid in the grate behind you and allow War to reach you if you're playing multiplayer. You'll be attacked by a few Skeletons along the way. After you kill the creatures, destroy the Soul Gate to the west and go up the stairs to find an Epic Chest that contains a Conqueror's Abyssal Armor Piece. Go to the end of the path and use the Air Current on the left to glide up to a higher ledge to the west. As you head east across the river you'll run into the second Tidehunter Shaman. Before you grab a bomb, make sure you know what you need to do. 26 - Item Chest. On top of the small mountain peak to the north of the boatman's coin is a strange torch that is glowing with electricity. If you actually touch a spear it does a tremendous amount of damage to you, and destroys the spear in the process. There's an Air Current where you first dropped down into The Gutter that will lift you back up out of the drain. The Target is right in front of you, and you can send the spark straight into it. In order to get access to it, you have to stand on the same void portals until you launch yourself high enough to get to a ledge. Use War's Vorpal Blade to spread the fire from the lit brazier down on the main path to the other two braziers up on the ledge. Activate the Switch to remove spikes from the Climbing wall, allowing you to climb back up from the area below without having to go through that puzzle in the future. When you complete the puzzle it will create an Air Current in front of you that you can use to Glide over to the next stone plateau. When you complete the puzzle a Conqueror's Healthstone Shard will spawn right in front of you. 17 - Limbo Chest Glide northeast and land on a high ledge overlooking a large acid waterfall. Darksiders Genesis is out now with many puzzles that are hard to complete. Return to the Bomb you used to clear the path. It's much easier to use Strife, who can stay outside the circle of poison and blast away at the beetle in the middle with long range attacks. An execution is not an elemental attack, even if you use an elemental weapon to do it. Heading north you'll soon come to a large door, which is closed by 3 glowing blue glyphs. The Boatman's Coin on the right side of the room will give you 3 coins. West of the final Grub Nest is an Item Chest. All throughout this level you could be attacked by Tidehunters or Fallen Ones at any time. Bring it back along the path to the Orange Rock at the end of the path, and then use War's Vorpal Blade to spread fire from the brazier to the bomb to clear the path to The Refinery. Along the way you'll likely be attacked by several Feral Tidehunters. It's quite a distance from the chest, but there's nothing between the two but empty wilderness. At the north end, you can jump off of the ledge and reach the Boatman's Coin as you glide down to the ground. 20 - Map. These ranged attacks can't be parried or timed evaded. In the northeast corner of the area you'll find 2 Portal Panels. This means that when the cannon fires, there's very little safe area where you can stand and not be standing in a puddle of acid, or getting blasted by the new acid coming from the cannon. Just north of the Grub Nest there's a Boatman's Coin up on a rock surrounded by trees, north of the clearing. To the northwest of the Chest you'll see a Boatman's Coin on top of a broken pillar. Jump down and head east, where you'll find a little valley with a Grub Nest. The key can be found in Fortress Path, straight north from the center of this area. It also has a poison attack where it will create a huge circle of poison around it, damaging you if you go within the circle. You'll be attacked by some Ghouls as you approach the coin. Jump off the bridge to the south to reach the area down below so you can reach the coin. There's a Bomb down at the bottom of the pit, next to the portal. If you bought the ammo from Vulgrim and have found everything up to this point, this will be the final ammo type for Strife, which will earn you a trophy. Use the Ghost Hook to cross the gap again. Darksiders Genesis Shops. Acid Fleas will continually spawn throughout the fight, jumping down from the walls around the area to attack you. Drop back down into the area below, then go to the west side of the area and use the climbing wall that you cleared of spikes to climb back up onto the ledge running around the area. This puzzle is so long that the spark will reach its maximum velocity before you get to the end. 4 - Boatman's Coin 10 - Trickster Key Notice the inactive teleporter on the wall. As soon as you can see the platform ahead, jump across. Continue past the statue, and turn when you reach a burning brazier. Grublings will start attacking you as soon as you reach the coin. Find every item, and finish every quest around Blackstone Keep. Climb the wall to the west of the Summoning Stone. Jump off the ledge to the south and you'll see a Horse Ward, indicating a fight. You do this by grabbing a bomb from across the acid with the Ghost Hook and then spreading fire from the brazier to the bomb to ignite it. The way forward is blocked by acid coming out of a grate, so go northeast, and then up the stairs on the right. This one is very easy. On the west side of the area is a Switch sitting over a pool of acid so that you cannot trigger it. Even when they attack close up their melee attacks often fire out a blast of electricity. Feral Tidehunters are the same size and shape as normal Tidehunters, but they are red and black, instead of blue. 38 - Boatman's Coin. Use the Bomb to activate the Switch, which will remove the bridge for a few seconds. For now, head east to the Valley of Rain. The Blight Cannon will always drop a Blight Cannon Major Creature Core. This nest features exclusively Grubs. Just equip the Thunderclap then move away from him and jump and press in the air to fire a lightning bolt. Go back past the switch, until you get back to where you took the stairs northeast of the path. It's still a lot better than a difficult Aether Spark puzzle. Use the Ghost Hook to grab a bomb. Turn the final valve to clear the pool back in the Backwater. There's another Boatman's Coin in the west corner of this large open area. Vulgrim ... Healthstone Shards should be a fairly low priority. Keep in mind that since you came back for these Aether Spark treasures, you may want to finish up the level. Having tried it both ways, I think going left and around is a little easier here. Finding this area will complete a Side Quest that can be turned in for 1200 Souls. There's another Portal Panel which you should see easily from the air as you're gliding down. Jump across to the southeast. Trickster Door There's another river to the right. Jump out and use the Ghost Hook to swing across to another high rock formation east of the river. Just below that chest is a purple Jump Panel that will fling you up in the air, where you'll collect another Boatman's Coin. There area some Skeleton Soldiers in this area that may attack you. On the southeast side of this ledge there's a Ghost Hook that you can use to swing across to a Hanging Board that you can climb on.
